Alright , heave a big sigh of relief , Elijah came out of surgery just fine. His heart is keeping up well to the new blood flow and his blood pressure is finally normal! Part of his condition is low blood pressure in the legs and high blood pressure readings in the arms, his is finally the same in all extremities which means a successful fix. The Mitorial vain will defiantly need to be either repaired of replaced in the future, we knew there was a narrowing of that valve as well ( again part of Shones syndrome) they just couldn't tell us the extent of the narrowing before the surgery. When this will happen though is something no one is going to be able to predict , it's a matter of watching the valve as he grows. For now we are focusing on the good and will deal with the rest as it comes.
The actual medical term for his condition is Coarctation of the aorta. It's the form of Shones syndrome that he is suffering from. There are different forms of the disease so just typing in "Shones syndrome" won't necessarily give the right info, and trust me some of the other types are damn scary.
